Jerzy Słuczan-Orkusz (1924 - 2002)

Pioneer of the industrial design during Soviet period in Poland, Jerzy Sluczan-Orkusz was one of the first graduates of the Academy of Arts of Wroclaw (1948-1953). He specialized himself in the glass design, although he was not only a talented designer but also an excellent organizer and an administrator.

He was also at the origin of glass architectural realizations, for the interior design of the Hotel Polonez in Poznan in particular, but also for the inside of the hotel Forum in Cracow or still for the Council of Ministers of the Leisure center to Zakopane. Jerzy Sluczan-Orkusz is famous as one of the most prolific glassworkers of the Eastern countries during communist period.
