Czesław Knothe (1890-1985)

Czeslaw Knothe is an interior architect and a Polish designer. In 1926, he became a member of the Artistic Cooperative "Lad" which he will become the director. One of his first realizations was an interior presented to the national exhibition of Poznan in 1929. In 1936, with Marian Sigmund, they drawn the interior of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After the war, Czeslaw Knothe worked with the Office of the Esthetic Supervision and the Production (BNEP)and later with the Institute of the Industrial Design (IWP). Between 1952 and 1955, he drawn furnitures for the Hotel Warszawa and the Palace of the Culture and the Sciences.
