Antonin Kybal (1901 – 1971)

Antonín Kybal is a Czech artist working the textile. He began his career at the School of the Decorative arts of Prague. He got the diploma in 1925. During this period Antonin Kybal met his future wife and collaborator, Ludmila Kybal.
From 1928, his wife and him create  their own workshop where they realize carpets, tapestries, curtains, printed drawings. Antonin Kybal quickly became a leading personality and a pioneer of the Czech modern textile art. After the Second World War he founded the Academy of the Arts of Prague " the school of Kybal textile" which the activities are centred on the tapestries and the carpets.
Antonin Kybal will have brought the innovations in the esthetic and technical domains.
