The Jonh Ild double bookcase is one of the first of its kind designed by Starck in his career. Published by Disform in 1982, this piece takes its name from Philip K. Dick's science fiction novel, Ubik. The designer makes a lot of references to it in several of his creations. The structure of the piece consists of two metal tube uprights, supporting five wooden shelves. The whole, simply placed against a wall, is lacquered in black.
