The Miss Dorn chair, named after a character in Philip K. Dick's science fiction novel Ubik, was designed by the French designer Philippe Starck in 1982.

The following year, this model was produced by the Spanish publisher Disform. The black color and geometric curves of its metal structure reflect Starck's desire to reach a certain purification and simplification of forms.
