DESIGNER : Philippe Starck

Producer : Vitra

Philippe Starck designed the WW stool for film director Wim Wenders, who had told him that he worked standing up. Formally, this piece is part of a period in which the designer is interested in organic forms. He describes it as a plant sculpture that's better to have in front of you than sitting on it. According to Philippe Starck, it is the fruit of an era when form, meaning and symbolism still took precedence over comfort.

This aluminum piece was published by Vitra in 1990.
